Job Description

The People Operations HR Generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: benefits administration, compensation planning, employee relations, performance management, policy implementation and employment law compliance.

 

Primary Duties

  • Provide guidance and interpretation on various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Maintain employee files in compliance with applicable legal requirements while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality of all employee records.
  • Provide employee-related data and reports to various departments on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
  • Serve as the benefits administrator
  • Process FMLA, Leave of Absence and/or STD paperwork.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to management on employee relations issues (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) guided by company's policies, labor-law legislation, and state and federal agency requirements.
  • Update, monitor and maintain eligible salary adjustments/increases based on company evaluation cycle.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Three-Five years of human resources generalist experience
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Trustworthy and capable of handling highly confidential employee information
  • Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented with natural commitment to follow through.
  • Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Flexible and demonstrates comfort with ambiguity.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, initiative, and highly effective listening skills.
  • Comfortable handling multiple projects, accurately setting priorities on a regular basis.
  • Thinks creatively and works as a collaborative team member.
